China blocks drone exports: why is it a slow-motion bomb?
If before the purchase of DJI drones was a real quest, now it has become much more complicated. The situation is critical — China blocks the export of dual-purpose goods not only for Ukraine, as it was before, but also for everyone in general. There is no official information regarding the ban on the supply of drones, instead there are specific actions from the manufacturer. We communicate with large Ukrainian funds, which also faced this problem.
Drone exports almost stopped after Chinese leader Xi Jinping's trip to Russia and meeting with Putin. The United States is tightening sanctions against DJI, and dealers in Europe have received quotas with scanty quantities of up to 30 pieces per month. It is not known what exactly the heads of state agreed on, but it seems that China is willing to support the aggressor without publicly acknowledging it.
According to The New York Times, since the beginning of a full-scale war, China has sold Russia drones for more than $12 million. In particular, the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control said that AeroMotus, which is based in the UAE, has been exporting DJI products to Russia since the start of a full-scale war, and called it the manufacturer's “official dealer”. DJI has stated that they do not supply drones for use in war, and that Aeromotus is no longer their official dealer.
Be that as it may, we see that the number of available “maviks” is limited, prices for them are rapidly increasing, and the opportunities to get drones, on the contrary, are decreasing. And this is a disaster, because due to the lack of drones at the front, our military is forced to go into reconnaissance instead of a drone. Often this ends in torture and death. Blocking the export of drones will lead to the fact that we will see in the news even more crimes committed against our military and civilians. The world will once again express concern, but Ukraine needs concrete action, and as soon as possible.
What is the output:
- purchase of remnants of drones around the world (strategy for a short period);
- manufacture of own FPV-drones for various tasks;
- the work of diplomats to unlock the situation.
Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, the Wavlya'91 charitable foundation has been providing military drones. Join the support of the army for details:
